Proposals for improvement of ISO 18626 - As part of the continuous review process for this standard, implementers and potential implementers are invited to submit suggestions for improvement to ISO 18626. The ISO 18626 editor group is opening a three month long window for proposals. For example: it has been recommended that a new Request Type be added to handle requests from book clubs. As well as a new RequestType = MultipleReservation, a StartDate and EndDate would be added to the Request message. Please send your proposals along with any other feedback or comments on ISO 18626 to iso18626ill@gmail.com before 24th June 2016.

ISO 18626 meeting at IFLA 2016 - During the IFLA World Library and Information Congress, (13 - 19 August 2016 in Columbus, Ohio, US) the ISO 18626 editor group is hosting a meeting about ISO 18626, its current status and implementation plans. This meeting will take place on August 17, 2016 at the OCLC Convention Centre (Room C124 & C125) from 9 am to 12 noon. Registration information will be provided at a later date.

The secretariat for ISO TC46/SC4 - Information and Documentation / technical Interoperability have 10 February 2014 sent the final text of ISO 18626 to ISO Central Secretariat for publication.

 

21 December 2013

As part of the ballot of ISO/DIS 18626 the members could propose new Open Codes as editorial changes. The list of Open codes is now updated with eight additional Open Codes.

 

10 December 2013

ISO 18626 is now approved! The DIS ballot closed 6 December 2013 and the result was 22 YES votes and zeros no votes. After some editorial adjustments the standard will be published.

The editors of ISO/DIS 18626 have sent a letter to the member bodies of ISO TC46/SC4 about the development of ISO 18626.

The ballot of ISO/DIS 18626 will conclude 6 December 2013. The first two months is for translation and the 3 months ballot period, where the members of ISO TC46/SC4 shall vote.

The website is updated with a version of open codes and guidelines similar to respectively Annex B and D of the standard.

The WG14 meeting 5 June 2013 was successful. We agreed on a more explicit formulation of handling of how to handle messages, which are repeating requests without spoiling the simplicity of the model. The editors have delivered a final version for DIS (Draft International Standard) ballot. This will take 5 months. During this period the editors will update guidelines/use cases, plan to add a FAQ. The plan is that new proposals for Open Codes will be seen as editorial comments and be added in the final version (and not result in an additional final ballot).

The WG14 have received a revised proposal for the standard to be discussed at the meeting 5 June. From this is Open Codes (replace List of values) and Guidelines added to this web site.

The result of the ISO 18262 CD ballot: 22 YES, 2 Abstain and 0 no votes. So the work goes on. The comments will be processed by the editors and a draft for a DIS (Draft International Standard) version and remarks to member bodies comments will be discussed at WG14 meeting 5 June.

The first face-to-face meeting of ISO TC46/SC4/WG14 Interlibrary Loan Transactions will be 5 June 2013 as part of the annual ISO TC46 meeting week (this year in Paris, France).

ISO/CD 18626 Information and documentation - Interlibrary Loan Transactions is sent to CD (Committee draft) ballot in ISO TC 46/SC 4 with 13 May 2013 as deadline for comments from ISO members bodies.

 

11 March 2013

A new Working Group ISO TC46/SC4/WG14 Interlibrary Loan Transactions is established with Leif Andresen as convener.

 

 

5 February 2013

The NWIP (New Work Item Proposal) Interlibrary Loan Transactions by Danish Standard has passed the ballot and is accepted as ISO 18626.
